Thanksgiving Fun!

Lots of fun stuff happening over Thanksgiving.... Jamie, Jennifer and the kids joined the rest of the family here in CS. We had our big turkey dinner (lunch) here at my house. The menu was endless (I think we counted 10 sides... plus rolls and 4-5 desserts). And, every bit of it was delicious... just ask my hips. Here are a few pictures... more to come soon.

Sometimes, at our house....

I figured that I'd better come up with something to post before I get into big trouble. Just a few "goings on" in our home...

Sometimes, in our house....

...you can find a turtle chauffeur and let the wind blow through your hair while you cruise in your cool dune-buggie... at least if you're "Leo".

.... Buzz dresses in Drag.
....we read books... or at least look at pictures of cool cars.
.... and, green marker makes a great lip-stick and tatoo.

Catching up

Well, I was informed yesterday that I am a terrible blogger (thanks Lee). I just didn't think anyone was interested in our boring and mundane lives. Evidently, there are readers out there and they want more! Sweet! We are loved and important to someone! Normally (well, all the time), everyone just wants to see pictures of the twins and to read about all the crazy and cute things they've been doing. I sat down to look through my camera and see if there was anything interesting to post. I did come across some fun pictures that I'll share.

Paw paw came over the other night and he and Daniel got on this great website to look at aerial maps (okay, I say 'great' with total sarcasm.... what I mean is boooorrrrriiiinnnngggg). At least Cal thought it was interesting. I promise, I took this picture without setting it up.... that's exactly how they were sitting... cute huh?

Sunday evening the Perkins crew came over for dinner (our usual hot and ready pizza). Denise got suckered in to doing "tummy bubbles". What a fun Aunt Neesy (or Measy)!

I had the great privilege of having Isaiah all to myself the other day while Denise and Mike went on a field trip with Chloe. I've had a hard time getting Patti and Cal to be nice to babies (most kids want to love on them and hold them.... haha, yeah right.... they're more of a nuisance to my kids. My kids like to push them down, take toys away from them, and then whack them with the toys they just took away). Well, we've come a long way... here's Cal sharing cheerios with Isaiah (the Cheerios he just stole from him of course).

This one is just cute....

Okay, this is funny.... I have this little tricycle on top of my fridge for decoration. Patti has asked for it a million times and I finally thought 'why not?' Well, she became very frustrated when she couldn't ride it around the kitchen. Huge meltdown. That would be the first and last time I get the bike down.

I really wasn't much in the Halloween spirit (that really doesn't make much sense does it?) this year. Cal was Dash from the Incredibles and Patti was originally a princess (but she became a cat when she decided that she didn't like the princess dress). We just went to see Lee and the puppies and then to Walmart to see Paw paw. The kids are still a little young to get the whole concept.
Even super heroes need to have their blood pressure checked!

They had this child-sized pony
at Walmart... very life like and it had sensors on it's nose, shoulder and back. Any time you touched it, it would "may" (as Patti says). The kids loved feeding it and brushing it.

Just one more thing.... Patti and Cal have been talking so much more lately (I was almost starting to worry about it). Anyway, some of Patti's new words are just too cute and I have to share:

Owl: Alo

Movie: Noomy

Buzz Lightyear: Bob Wike-ear

A little funny....

In the car the other day....

Patti: A deer!!!!!!!!!

(Hmmm.... we were in a neighborhood known to have deer roaming around.... so, I looked and looked. No deer. So...)

Mommy: A deer??

Patti: Where!?!?!?!

Small boy, big box

A large box arrived yesterday (early Christmas present from Grams to Patti - can't tell you what it is and ruin the surprise). I had the UPS man put it in the entry way and I went back to the kitchen to finish dinner. I heard something like a light switch being turned off and on over and over again. I walked around the corner and saw this....

Notice the proud look on Cal's face. Patti's not much of a climber so she was happy enough standing on one of the chairs they took out of the playroom.

Family fun in Galveston

Daniel and I took the kids to Galveston this last weekend. It was our first "family" vacation. We had a blast! The kids were fabulous and are at such a fun age! Our first stop was Moody Gardens (that's where we stayed too) - Aquarium and Rainforest. Forgive me for all the pictures, but I got carried away.

Patti loved the butterflies... she put her hand out (like they show her in Bible class) and was being really still - hoping a butterfly would land on her.

We got to the hotel a little early and had to wait in the lobby until our room was ready. Moody Gardens is great... when we checked in, they had gift bags for the kids. The goggles were a big hit!

Cal loved the room... he was right at home.

After settling in, we went downstairs where they had a clown doing balloon animals and face painting. Cal wasn't interested in the painting, but loved his poodle! Patti got Elmo painted on her hand... she was so proud of it! The hotel also had a big jumpy-thing (whatever!) that the kids loved playing on.

After playing at the hotel, we realized it was time for dinner. So, we loaded the kids up and tried to find a place to eat. Since we were having so much fun, and because our hotel check-in was 4:00, there was no time for naps. Cal and Patti managed to get one in on the way to dinner.

After dinner, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for bed. Daniel brought in the DVD player and set up a nice little pallet for the kids. They loved it.

The next morning we went to the Lone Star Flight Museum.

Then, it was off to the Strand to do some shopping... woo hoo! We stopped off at the ice cream and candy shop.

Yummy!
I have to admit, it was some of the best ice cream!

Daniel was the candy-dealer.

Before heading home, we stopped at Joe's Crabshack to eat... only b/c they had a great outdoor playground. We thought we should get the kids nice and tired before the drive home.

It worked....

Life is fun....

My sweet little angel, Cal, is not always an angel.... don't try to argue with me.... even though he seems so innocent and sweet and perfect, we have a few (yes, very very few) moments when he is mischievous and sneaky. I know you laugh at this and just can't believe it, but I have pictures to prove it.....

Let me explain this picture.... I baked a carrot cake the other day and noticed that the dome was not placed properly onto the cake and it looked like a little mouse had nibbled around the edges.... hmmm???

Did I mention that every once in a while, he makes a mess.... but it's rare.

I had to share this one.... just to show that he has a great sense of humor too. He loves to watch America's Funniest Home Videos with Daddy.

Now, I must give Patti some of the spotlight. She's a sweetheart and deserves some special attention too.
