Shhh, Cow sweeping...

Cal hasn't been feeling too great... he woke up with a high fever a couple of days ago. He didn't nap at all during the day yesterday, but at about 6:00 he crashed on the couch. Patti just played quietly around him. I don't think she even noticed that he was asleep until about 30 minutes later because I heard her say (loudly), "Shhh... Cow sweeping." Then, I guess she thought he might be a little thirsty, so she offered him some tea. He didn't respond to her kind gesture, so she just pushed it a little closer to his face, gave him a kiss and said "nigh nigh."

I think Patti really enjoyed some Cal-free playtime. She was able to do what she does best... line up her animals - which now includes trucks, dolls, shopping carts, stuffed animals, and anything else she can find. I'd catch her glancing over her shoulder every now and then to make sure that the coast was still clear.

Am I asking too much?

You know, it's been a long day... I'm tired and would like to pass off some of my chores... is it too much to ask of my 2 yr. olds to do a little sweeping and maybe some laundry? Guess I push too hard... they both fizzled out on me and took a little rest on the pile of clothes that they were suppose to be washing.... I'll have Daddy talk to them about their chores when he gets home!

The best seat in the house...

The other night, Daniel sat down to watch some TV... Patti decided that she wanted to sit with Daddy and watch TV too... on his head. She just walked over to him, climbed up and made herself comfortable. She was so grateful for the great seat that she leaned over and gave Daddy a big smooch.

No rest for mommy...

Q: What is the best way to get your kids to wake up from their naps?
A: Lay down and try to take a nap yourself... I promise, this works every time! They are up within seconds!

Phoebe and Patti

Phoebe looooves Patti, and Patti looooves Phoebe. But, I think Phoebe is a little more excited about showing Patti how much she really loves her! Here are a few pictures of the loving cousins playing (or Phoebe loving on Patti)... you have to look under Phoebe to find Patti.

We're back...

We've had a busy (but fun) summer so far. I can't believe that it's almost August! We haven't gotten to play outside much because of the rain, but we've kept busy doing so many other things.

Here are a few fun things we've done...

Baby Showers....

A brunch for Katy and "Baby" ...

A surprise shower for Krisha and "Baby" at Hibachi Grill...

Playing Ring Around the Roses with our cousins...

WE ALL FALL DOWN!

Fun at South Padre with friends Clint and Ashley and their two boys, Grant and Hudson. Grams was there too!

Playing with Daddy...

Like mother, like daughter...

I LOVE ketchup! Anyone who really knows me knows that I will eat ketchup on just about anything. It all started when I was really little... I remember sitting at the dinner table and turning my nose up at my potatoes. My dad was trying to encourage me to eat them and he said, "Look at Randy, he puts ketchup on his... why don't you try it that way." That's all it took... I was hooked for life! Any kind of meat, starch or vegetable was dunked into ketchup before it got near my mouth. I think I offended many chefs in my day by asking, "can I have some ketchup?" Sorry mom, but I used to hide the bottle of ketchup under the table every Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. The big pile of red stuff on my plate was not cranberry sauce. I'm sure you knew and just didn't want to admit it. I remember my dad telling someone that I was born with a bottle of ketchup in my hand. For a while, I believed him. I'm getting better about the ketchup addiction... I still struggle though.

Anyway, my daughter inherited this ketchup gene. She loves it as much as I do - if not more. I don't know if I EVER licked the ketchup off my plate...
