Whatch our family grow....

We take a family picture every year at the reunion. There are a couple of the early years missing (Lisa, can you help me out?) .... and in 2007, we got rained out (so we had 2 mini reunions.... the north and south folks met at a family member's house, but I don't have that picture either). Anyway, it's just fun to see our family grow. And, to think that next year there will be at least one (don't read into that comment anyone) more!!! So exciting!

9th Annual Livingston Family Reunion

I am so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful family. I didn't have the privilege of meeting Daniel's grandparents, Oscar and Irene, but I know that they were incredible people. This family exudes sweetness, Godliness, and every essence of the word Family. I love getting to see them... too bad it's only once a year. This year we went to Cedar Mills Resort on Lake Texoma. It was about a 5 hr. drive for us... the kids did great. We all had such a wonderful time.... can't wait for next year!

Daniel's sweet cousins (sisters) AnnaLee and Lisa taking Patti to the lake...

Second cousins.... only a small group of them... there are lots more!

There was a small petting zoo at the resort.... of course we had to pet the animals...

Patti sure has her way of sweet-talking the men....

Saturday evening we went to Monica and Craig's house. They have a beautiful home.... lots of horses too...

I've been tagged!

So, I've been tagged by a Goldfish!

Who is your favorite author and why?

Hmmm.... I love to read, I really do. But, since kids I rarely have the chance. Here's my problem... when I pick up a good book, I just can't put it down. The kids could be running around on fire and I'm trying desperately to finish the chapter I'm on. No really, I'm serious. So, I try to read when the kids are sleeping, and most of that time I'm wanting to be asleep too. Sooooo, I've read very few books lately, and most have been by the same author. When I got put on bedrest with the twins, a good friend gave me Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. Since then, I've become one of her biggest fans. I recently finished the Mark of the Lion series..... absolutely incredible! I've never had an author fill me with such emotion and fire for the Lord through her characters. I've cried through every book. She really is good!

Who was your first favorite author and why?

Louis L'Amour! My Texas History teacher in 7th (? is that when we have Tex. History?) grade made us read westerns and write book reports on them. I love Louis L'Amour! Daniel and I love to take the long drive down to the ranch when we have a good book on tape.... he's one of our favorites.

Who is your most recent addition to your favorite authors, and why?

Other than Francine Rivers? I like Karen Kingsbury too. Can you tell I like Christian fiction? I just read A Woman's High Calling by Elizabeth George... I really like her too. And, I'm doing a Bible study and our book is Soul Feast by Marjorie J. Thompson.... so far so good.

But, there is an honorable mention..... James Dobson. I have Bringing up Boys and The Strong-Willed Child by my bed and are great books! I'm passing them on to Daniel to read. He's a great author!

If someone were to ask you right now- which author would just pop into mind?

Other than Francine Rivers :) I would have to say Shel Silverstein. Have you read any of his poems? LoVe them!

Thanks Megan... this was fun.

I tag anyone who wants to share.... I'm anxious to see who joins in!

Meet Skunky and Domino

No, he's not named Skunky because he stinks (his glands were removed - so he won't be stinky). He just has a black stripe down his back and tail. I mentioned to Patti in the pet store that he looked like a skunk and she said "he's skunky" and it stuck. I never ever thought I'd own a ferret.... but, after having him for a week, he grows on you. He really is great with the kids... he and Patti play chase around the house and he even snuggles with Patti while she watches tv. Cal's still a little scared... yes, my fearless child turns out not to be so fearless. But, that's okay with me.... he needs some type of cautiousness in his life.

So, meet our 'frat', Skunky (nickname given to him by Uncle Mike Mike).....

Here's Domino. He's a very sweet bunny... he lets Patti cradle him like a baby. He's not a fun as Skunky, but he soft and cute.

Here's Patti taking the duo on a shopping trip. Not sure I like her getting them out whenever she pleases.... we'll have to work on that.
