The kids, my mom and I headed to South Padre a couple of weeks ago. Daniel flew down and drove back with us. While we were there, Daniel's sister and her family came down. These are all her pictures.... I didn't take my camera with me.... so, thanks for sharing Neesey! The kids had so much fun! We couldn't keep Cal away from the water and Patti was so happy collecting sea shells with her cousins. Sorry, David didn't get to join in the beach fun (he stayed upstairs with Grams)... so, I promise I'll post pictures of him soon!

Cal and Baby Jesus
I just had a good laugh... I have to document it or else I'll forget.
Daniel was telling Patti that he loved her and asked her if she wanted to marry him (kidding around of course... that's just gross if you think he was serious). I asked Cal who he was going to marry (I've already married him off to a best friend's daughter... just wanted to know if he remembered :) He looked at me puzzled (we really don't talk a lot about being married... it just doesn't come up in conversations with the kids.... so, my kids are unfamiliar with the word/concept). I asked him again, "who are you going to marry?" He sweetly and confusingly (I may have just made up that word).... answered "Baby Jesus??" Get it? "Mary"... and Baby Jesus. He does listen in Bible Class.

Huh?
I put David down in his bassinet in my room.... with Cal and Patti laying on my bed watching Dora and eating marshmallows. I was just a few feet away in the bathroom trying to do something with this mop on my head (aka hair). Here's how the conversation went....
Cal: Yes, he likes marshmallows...
Patti: No Cal!!
Me: (whipping around the corner) Cal! Do NOT ever put anything in David's mouth!!
Patti: Yeah... only milk!
Me: Right Patti... but, only mommy does that right?
Patti: Right. And, when I'm bigger I will give him my milk.
Cal: Yeah... and when I'M bigger, I will give him my milk too.
(I'll leave that one for Daniel to explain)

Sweet Baby David
I know that y'all have been waiting (patiently... hehe) for some pictures. My apologies.... my hands have been a little full :) The last week has just flown by... kind of. David is doing great! I can't believe he's a week old. He's such a good baby.... just a little demanding when it comes to feeding time. The twins absolutely adore him and want to hold him and sing to him (poor kid is going to get real tired of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star... it's the only song they sing). It's been 4 yrs since I've had a newborn, so it's taking a little time to get adjusted again.... but, definitely easier with just one this time.

For those of you that don't know, David was named after my father-in-law. He's an incredible man, Christian, father, and grandfather. We are blessed to have him in our lives. We love you Paw Paw. His middle name, Ray, comes from my side of the family. Both my grandfathers are named Ray (my mom's dad was Raymond and my dad's dad was Raymundo) and I had a sweet Uncle Ray who passed away when I was pregnant with the twins. Ray also means "King" in Spanish (though it's spelled R-e-y)... like King David from the Bible. Also a strong man -- a shepherd boy that slew the giant, Goliath. King David was also a warrior and the writer of Psalms. And, most importantly.... King David was a man after God's own heart.
Of course here's proud Paw Paw and Grams. My mom was in the delivery room and got to see this sweet boy come into the world. My sister-in-law, Denise, was also there taking pictures (and helping out .... thanks Neesey).
Patti loves to help change David's diaper. She sings to him (Twinkle Twinkle Little Star of course) while we change it. Such a sweet big sister.
