I've been getting lots of emails and questions about how we're doing.... so, here goes.....
I am 38 weeks.... 12 days to go!! Woo hoo! I'm feeling really good (with the occasional heartburn/reflux and some/lots of non-painful Braxton Hix) for the most part. Of course I tend to slow down a lot in the afternoons and evenings. But, with 2 four-yr-olds, it's hard to take it easy. I've had a tiny bit of swelling, but nothing to write home about. He's definitely "dropped".... ask my bladder, it'll agree. He's still really active.... and that's a good thing. I don't know if this is "blog appropriate" but I'll share anyway since everyone's been asking..... I'm having a vbac.... if you don't want to know, don't go look it up :) My doctor is one of few in town who does them. She delivered C and P (C-section) and is confident and excited about it. She said that she sewed me up really good :) I told her that I was a nervous about the risks and her response was "being pregnant's a risk." So, there you go.
I am all ready for the little guy to get here.... got everything situated, decorated, organized, folded and washed, etc. The only thing that's not ready is the pack-n-play in my bedroom.... still packed up, but I'm afraid that if I put it up, Daniel will turn green and pass out. I told him that my bag was packed and where it was..... I saw him catch his breath and his eyes go big. Yes, honey, we're having a baby in less that 2 weeks (hopefully).... haven't you had 9 months to get use to that idea?
So, listen to this.... Daniel's going out-of-town for work on Monday for a week (he'll be about 3 hrs away). He should get back just a few days before my due date. I really don't think anything's going to happen before he gets back (this guy is nice and cozy.... I'm only at a "2" and about 50% -- for those of you who know what I'm talking about :) But, it is a little scary to think he'll be that far away if something should happen. I know Daniel... he'll be here in less than 3 hrs if he needs to be. I have lots of people "on call" though.
Patti and Cal are anxious for their little brother to get here too. Cal just wants someone to play with (he's in for a rude awakening huh?) and Patti can't wait to rock him, sing to him, and read stories to him. I can't wait to see them with him.
So, that's our update. I'll keep you posted if anything should happen!

Questions, questions, questions.....
Okay, sometimes I find it humorous.... sometimes just down right annoying. Does that make me a bad mom?
A conversation I just had with my kids:
Cal: What's this big bow for?
Me: Nothing... leave it alone.
Cal: But I want to see it.
Patti: (walking in to the conversation) What big bow? What's is for?
Me: (thinking that if I give them a quick explanation, they'll leave it alone) A present.
Patti: What kind of present?
Me: (Ugh) A wedding present.
Patti: What kind of wedding present? (in other words, what is it?)
Me: (UGH) It's a ___________ (just in case they read my blog).
Patti: For who?
Cal: Wedding? What's a wedding?
Me: (hmm?) Ummmm..... it's when a boy and girl get married and become husband and wife.
Me: (to Patti) It's for Ben and Regan.
Patti: Is one a big boy or little boy?
Me: Definitely a big boy.
Patti: Is the other one a big boy or little boy?
Me: A big girl.
Patti: Oh.
Cal: Are they coming to our house?
Me: No... they aren't.
Cal: But, but, but.... why not????
Me: Because they just aren't!!!!
Cal: But I want them to come to our house (super whiny tone)... I want to play with them.

More fun....
It's been great having my mom here.... we love Grams! The kids love the extra attention!
My mom's funny.... I went to work on some pictures in my room one day and came out to see my kids sitting on the tile between the kitchen and living room eating ice cream cones and watching TV. My mom looked at me and smiled.... she said that they wanted to watch TV but knew that I wouldn't let them eat in the living room.... so, they compromised. I would have made them choose one or the other.... this is why grandmas have the reputations they do :)
Paw Paw is here for a little visit too~ always ready to read with his sweet granddaughter.

Patti and Cal each got some neat crayons and coloring books for their birthday. Patti loves to color and is getting so much better at it .... I love this picture!
Cascarones
The kid's school, St. Thomas ELC, is having a Spring Festival this Saturday. As part of my "contribution," I signed up to do confetti eggs.... also known as Cascarones. This brought back SO many memories. I grew up in S. Texas... I'm Hispanic on my father's side of the family (did I phrase that correctly?). Anyway.... when we had Easter egg hunts growing up, we hunted cascarones and smashed them on each other's heads, down shirts and pants.... anywhere we could :) When I moved to College Station in Jr. High, I realized that most people "up here" hunt plastic or hard-boiled eggs (gross!). I've adapted and we do a little of both.... no hard-boiled though. So, we saved our egg shells for a few months and invited our cousins over to color and fill the eggs for the festival. Lots of fun and beautiful eggs!
Happy Birthday Calloway and Patti
Calloway and Patti turned 4 last Saturday and we had two little parties for them. They attend St. Thomas ELC three afternoons a week and love it! Another little boy in their class turned 4 around the same time, so his mom and I decided to combine a party for all 3 of them. We had it at our house.... with lots of fun activities planned for outside, but we were hit with some terrible weather on Friday and Saturday. So, we moved it all inside. It was chaos... but FuN chaos! The kids had a great time. We even had a pinata!
I said I wouldn't post anymore pictures of myself, but you know what.... who cares how huge I am. I have a sweet baby in there and I love it! I am now officially 37 weeks! Yay!

A conversation I had with the kids on the way home from school today:
Patti: Mommy, are we going to have a Bestible at school tomorrow?
Me: Yes we're going to have a Festival but not until Saturday.
Cal: A vegetable? I don't like vegetables!!!
Patti: No Cal... a Bestible.
Cal: Oh. Yay.... I get to see monkeys!

Catching up again...
I have been having a hard time getting motivated to blog. Actually I think the problem is that once I sit down at my computer, I realize that my camera is on the other side of the house.... and, once I'm down, it's hard to get moving again :) I've uploaded a few pictures, but there are still tons on my camera (which is in the kitchen.... and, I'm nice and comfy right now).
So, I'll catch up on the last couple of weeks slowly.
My sweet babies turned 4 on Saturday. I thought I'd keep things simple this year.... so I had two parties on the same day. Smart. No really, it was so much fun. We had a little party for their "school" friends at lunch (another little boy in their class was celebrating his bday too, so his mom and I combined our parties) and then just family that evening. I'll update on all that later with pictures.
My mom and I went to get pedicures a week or so ago. Patti had a fit that we were leaving her at home. She loves to put on the guilt trip.... saying things like "but, I loooove you" and "but, I miss you" with big tears in her eyes. It's pretty pathetic.... but sweet. So, we decided to take her with us. She was an absolute AnGeL!!! She just sat there, as still as could be, while the lady painted her nails. After she was done, she sat in her chair and didn't move. She enjoyed her massage and just looked around taking it all in. So sweet.

Catching up...
We went to the circus on Thursday. What a fun time! The kids loved it, of course.... and so did we! We had great seats.... that blue behind Cal is the "ring" where all the fun took place!
We didn't even make it out of the parking lot before the kids fell asleep. Fun will do that to you.
Daniel went out of town the other night, so the kids slept with me. I let them watch some cartoons before bed and they soon cuddled up and went to sleep. I love this picture.
Princesses like diet Coke...
I haven't been much in the "cooking mood" lately. I tend to just throw something together at the last minute. I don't usually let the kids tell me what they want to eat (sometimes, I give them a choice of two things).... but the other night I asked Patti what she wanted for dinner. She rattled off a list of stuff.... lucky for her, I had most of it (broccoli had to be substituted for green beans). I just had to take a picture of her random menu. Cal decided (more like insisted) that he just wanted pretzels for dinner. HA.... I wasn't that tired.... he ate a PB sandwich instead.

How much is too much?
Okay, so I have a question for you mommies out there. I'm almost 36 weeks and am feeling this little guy move more than ever. Aren't they suppose to start running out of room by now? He's not kicking... just rolling and rolling and stretching and stretching. It's almost painful sometimes. I can feel almost his entire body through my skin.... okay, maybe a little exaggeration. I never felt like this with the twins... maybe because there just wasn't enough room in there. It makes me nervous sometimes because it feels like he's soooo close to the surface.... I could pinch him through my skin. A little weird. Any of you ever felt this? There's never really a moment that I can't touch my belly and feel a leg, foot, bottom, or something moving around. Sometimes I can actually roll him over or across my stomach. Hmm?

Mommy's a little slow...
I have to post things like this so that I won't forget them.
The kids were playing games and Cal said, "Patti, let's play 'tag hear it!'" Curious, I asked how you play this "tag hear it" game. Cal proceded to chase Patti, touched her on the shoulder and yelled, "TAG HEAR IT!!" Hahahaha....tag, YOU'RE it!
